I’m a Nurse Anesthetist and have worked in healthcare for close to 30 years. I’m also and entrepreneur and have been a caretaker for two parents and I know exactly what BURNOUT feels like and just how overwhelming it can become in your life if you don’t get a handle on it.
On top of a lifetime of the trauma that is being a Black woman in America and a lack of safety that I didn't understand, close to 10 years of in my face stress and burnout led me to face some serious health challenges- all stemming from insulin resistance and HPA dysfunction (aka adrenal fatigue).
So I became a holistic health coach to heal myself and have been helping people integrate nutrition, simple lifestyle changes and deep health work into systems that work in their day to day lives ever since.

The Honest Scoop: While influencers and marketing might make detox diets seem appealing, they don't do much more than what a balanced, healthy diet can achieve. Plus, they might leave you missing out on crucial nutrients. Sticking to what truly nourishes your body will give you the same results without feeling like you're missing out.
Myth 3: "Juice Cleanses are the Ultimate Detox"
The Lowdown: Juice cleanses and similar programs often lack essential nutrients, leaving you more depleted than detoxified. Sustainable health is about balanced, nutrient-rich meals, not just liquid quick fixes.

Ditch the Detox Overhype – Your Essential Checklist
You know the saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?" It applies to keeping your body functioning at its best too! Besides decreasing the amount of toxins that enter your body, doing the things on this checklist will support your body's natural detoxifiers and have you feeling amazing in your body all year long.
Stay hydrated – water is your best friend in flushing out toxins. Unless you have health conditions or medications that restrict your water intake- aim to drink in ounces half your weight in pounds (e.g. A 200 pound person should aim for 100 oz daily).
Keep moving – find physical activities you love to boost circulation and aid in detoxification and do them for at least 30 min, 5 times a week.
Prioritize sleep – quality zzz’s are when your body does its best detox work so work your way up to 7.5-9 hours nightly by starting a sleep routine that works for you.
