Any woman over 35 can tell you that gaining weight in your twenties and early thirties AIN'T GOT NUTHIN' on hormonal weight gain from 35 and over. And even though it feels like your hormones have lost their mind and conspired against you, they're actually doing the best they can with what you're giving them to work with.

a

I know that didn't feel good, but keep reading, I promise it gets better from here.

You may have spent years failing at fad diets, doing complicated and long workouts, feeling disappointed in yourself and hopeless about ever being able to lose the weight that has been piling on in spite of your best efforts.

Is that you too? Or was it just me?

When my hormones decided enough was enough and said "Peace Out!", I was doing all the things that had worked for weight loss in the past with either little to no results and had an instant rebound weight gain after every attempt.

EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

And it wasn't until I learned more about hormone health and what the little buggers need to work properly that I started to get twice the results with half the effort.

Insert praise dance here.

To be clear, losing hormonal weight gain requires a holistic approach of diet and lifestyle changes. You can't reverse all the years of damage by just eating their favorite foods.

HOWEVER, starting to add more foods that fight hormonal weight gain to what you eat daily is absolutely a fantastic place to begin.

Let's get into a few of them, shall we?

Here are 3 foods that fight hormonal weight gain (for 6 more foods that blast hormonal fat click below👇🏽)

Free guide on 9 Foods to Fight hormonal weight gain

1. EGGS

Eggs are rich in protein, which has been shown to affect the production of the hormones ghrelin and insulin positively. Insulin controls your blood sugar levels, and ghrelin controls your appetite. Your insulin and ghrelin levels will drop when you eat eggs for your first meal of the day. Eggs also make you feel full for longer, making it more likely that you will eat less food for each meal.

2. FATTY FISH

The American Heart Association recommends eating fatty fish like herring, sardines, wild-caught salmon, mackerel, and lake trout. These fish been shown to help stabilize hunger hormones so you feel fuller longer. Fatty fish are rich in Vitamin D which is essential in managing female testosterone levels. When female testosterone levels are improved, it can lead to slower weight gain, less fatigue, and lower depression levels. Eating as little as 3.5 ounces of fatty fish twice a week can go a long way in keeping your heart healthy and your hair and skin glowing. Additionally, the good fats in fish are essential for proper hormonal communication which results in a better mood and better cognitive skills

3. NUTS

Nuts are rich in healthy fats that aid hormone production and boost blood vessel health. They help lower cholesterol and insulin levels while positively impacting your overall endocrine system and maintaining optimum blood sugar levels. Brazil nuts are a great source of selenium, essential for good thyroid health. Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids making them great for promoting good brain health. Finally, almonds have very high protein and antioxidant levels.
